Padel Club Opening Delays: 2026's Slipped US Clubs

We checked all eleven operator sites on October 30, 2026

October 30, 2026·8 min read·Padel Browser

Building a padel club takes longer than anyone plans for. Permits move at municipal speed, court kits ship from Europe, and one slow HVAC order can push a facility from spring to fall. A six- to twelve-month slip is close to the norm in this business.

That is small comfort if you have been refreshing a club's Instagram since March. So we took the eleven US clubs that publicly targeted a 2026 opening and have passed their own date, and checked every operator's website and booking engine on October 30, 2026.

One has opened. One has a grand opening on the calendar. Nine are still waiting, and most have published no revised date at all.

The one that made it

Padel Society
Now Open

Padel Society

6320 E Stassney Ln, Suite 240, Austin, TX 78744

Padel Society aimed at September and opened in October, which in this pipeline counts as a rounding error. Six air-conditioned courts sit on East Stassney Lane in southeast Austin, twelve minutes from downtown, under what the club bills as the highest ceilings in the city, with a bar in the middle of the hall.

It is trading, not just announcing. Its Playtomic page carries bookable hours from 7am to 11pm, clinics under named coaches, and a Halloween tournament that filled 47 of 48 spots. Court time is $35 per person at peak and $25 off-peak, and anyone can book without joining. The padel director is Paloma Cortina, a former national number one.

The one with a date on the calendar

The Club at Midtown
Opening Soon

The Club at Midtown

4950 Holly Tree Rd, Wilmington, NC 28409

Midtown told North Carolina players September. Its homepage now reads "Opening November 2026" and advertises a grand opening on Friday, November 6, 3pm to 6pm — a specific, catered, RSVP event, which is the most reliable kind of opening signal there is.

One caveat: the three padel courts at this Wilmington racquet-and-social club were still pending city council approval when we last recorded the project, so the club opening in November does not automatically mean padel opens with it.

New Orleans Padel Club
Opening Soon

New Orleans Padel Club

421 First St, New Orleans, LA 70130+1 504-339-3520

The Lower Garden District club originally said early July. Its site has since been updated — the banner now reads "Opening End of October," which gives it days rather than months. The only call to action is still a waitlist, and the Playtomic tenant is still titled "coming soon" with nothing bookable behind it. This would be Louisiana's first dedicated padel club. We covered the project in our New Orleans write-up.

Open Play Pickleball & Padel
Opening Soon

Open Play Pickleball & Padel

124 E Main St, Hopkinton, MA 01748(774) 240-2392

Hopkinton's eight padel courts (plus eleven for pickleball) were a Q1 2026 target. The homepage now says "Opening this Fall" — a real revision, if a loose one, since fall runs out on December 20.

The build-out signals are encouraging even without a date. Founding memberships are priced and selling at $99, $149 and $199 a month, checkout runs through PlayByPoint, and the club has shipped iOS and Android apps. What it has not shipped is a court calendar. More in our MetroWest preview.

M Padel Malden
Opening Soon

M Padel Malden

735 Broadway, Malden, MA 02148+1 347-712-0487

Mouratoglou's Boston-area club has never published an opening date, and still has not. What it has done is move to a new, actively maintained page — last modified October 14 — carrying a full spec: six indoor padel courts, two indoor pickleball courts, a gym and lockers at 735 Broadway.

Founding membership is the whole pitch. The first hundred members get the initiation fee waived and pay $129 a month, against a standard $149 plus a $199 initiation. There is a "Book Now" link in the navigation, and nothing behind it. The older Mouratoglou-branded page is still headed "Padel Coming Soon" and has not been touched since February. We wrote it up when memberships went live: M Padel Malden.

10by20 Padel Wellington

10by20 Padel Wellington

3100 Lyons Rd, Wellington, FL 33414305-540-5719

Seven outdoor courts at the Wellington Tennis Center, built through a $1.5M partnership between 10by20 and the Village of Wellington, targeted early 2026. The operator's club list still files Wellington under "coming soon" — one of five pipeline sites against a single active club in Fort Lauderdale. No revised date appears anywhere on their site. Background in our Wellington preview.

Mouratoglou Tennis Center
Opening Soon

Mouratoglou Tennis Center

14469 Olio Road, Noblesville, IN 46060

The brand's first Midwest site aimed at a full opening in September. Indiana's six-court facility is this list's clearest case of marketing copy running ahead of operations — present-tense booking language on one site, "join the waitlist" on the other. It has a post of its own: Mouratoglou Noblesville.

Ballers DTLA

750 W. Seventh Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017

Ballers planned four padel courts in the former Macy's at The Bloc in downtown Los Angeles, first for Q2 2026, then summer. The location page is titled "Coming Soon," the navigation marks Los Angeles "(soon)," and the hero copy is two words: "You're next." No date. Their Philadelphia and Boston clubs are both open — see our Ballers rundown.

Quail Creek Country Club

13300 Valewood Dr, Naples, FL 34119

Three padel courts broke ground in North Naples against a summer 2026 target, and the club calls itself the first private club in southwest Florida to add the sport. Our data backs that up: there is no open padel court anywhere in the Naples–Fort Myers region, and the nearest is about 83 miles away across Alligator Alley.

This one is genuinely ambiguous, and worth saying plainly. The amenities page now describes "our three enclosed courts" in the present tense, which suggests they are built. But padel is absent from the same page's list of programmed court sports, no opening has been announced, and as a members-only club there is no public calendar to check either way.

Windsor

Windsor

The 472-acre private community in Vero Beach announced padel and pickleball courts alongside its eight Stan Smith-designed Har-Tru tennis courts for spring 2026. Its amenities page has quietly been revised: the courts "will open in the fall of 2026." That window has not closed yet. Court count is unpublished, and access is members only.

Pickleball Park

100 Centerpoint Drive, Middletown, CT 06457

The $15M, 88,000-square-foot racquet complex on Centerpoint Drive in Middletown is the hardest club here to check, for an unusual reason: it has no operator website. Eighteen pickleball courts and two indoor padel courts were announced for July 2026. That date passed, local coverage has gone quiet, and with no official site, no social account and no booking engine, there is nothing to refresh. Treat it as a 2027 question.

How to tell a real opening date from a marketing date

Four of the clubs above sell memberships today. None of them can sell you a court. That gap is where most of the confusion lives, and three checks resolve almost all of it.

A membership sale is not an opening

"Founding memberships now open" means the membership is open. Both Open Play Hopkinton and M Padel Malden use that phrasing while describing the facility in the future tense elsewhere on the same page — "built from the ground up," "make history." Nobody is misleading anyone; founding memberships are how these projects get funded. But the phrase describes the sales process, not the doors.

No bookable calendar means not open

The reliable test is whether you can pick a court, a date and a time, and pay. A "Book Now" button that lands on a lead form, a membership checkout or another marketing page is not a booking engine. Padel Society cleared that bar with a Playtomic calendar, named coaches and a nearly full tournament. Most of this list has not.

Check when the page was last touched

Clubs that are days from opening update constantly. M Padel Malden's current page was modified in October; its older sibling page, still headed "Padel Coming Soon," has not changed since February. New Orleans moved its banner from July to end of October. 10by20 has left Wellington under "coming soon" all year. A frozen page is a slower project.

The October clubs to watch next

Four clubs carried an October 2026 target into this month. One has already moved:

Two more are worth a bookmark: The Padel Company in Socorro, Texas, the biggest near-term build in the country at ten courts, targeting December; and Three Rackets in Broomfield, Colorado, which slipped from September to November — we covered it when it was still aiming at September. For the full forward view, see our Q4 2026 watchlist and the 2026 openings tracker.

Where to play while you wait

The point of tracking delays is to stop you driving to a construction site. For every club above, here is the nearest open padel today.

We re-check every club in the pipeline weekly and update these listings when a date moves or a booking calendar goes live. If you want to know the day one of these opens, the club directory is the page to watch.
