M Padel Malden: Memberships Open, No Opening Date Yet

Mouratoglou's Boston-area club published full founding-member pricing on October 6 — and still has no opening date and no booking engine

Patrick Mouratoglou's padel brand has been promising a club in Malden since late 2025. On October 6, 2026 it did something concrete: it published the full facility spec and a complete price list.

What it still has not published is an opening date.

Six Padel Courts, Six Miles North of Downtown Boston

M Padel Malden is going into 735 Broadway in Malden, roughly six miles north of downtown Boston. It is the first club in Mouratoglou's US portfolio built around padel rather than bolted onto a tennis centre.

One number is worth pinning down first: this is a six-court padel club, not an eight-court one. The eight-court figure that circulates for 735 Broadway — including, for now, on our own listing — is the padel and pickleball courts added together. The operator counts them separately, and so should anyone booking a padel court.

The News Is the Price List, Not the Doors

The club's page at mouratogloupadel.com was published in February 2026 and carries a modification date of October 6, 2026. That October edit is what changed: a holding placeholder became a working sales page with tiers, monthly rates, initiation fees and a deposit.

The banner on it reads "founding memberships now open." That phrase is about the membership sale. It is not about the building.

How We Know It Hasn't Opened

The language is easy to misread, so here is the evidence, all from the operator's own pages:

  • There is no booking engine. The "BOOK NOW" button in the site navigation and the "Book a court" link in the footer both resolve to #contact, an anchor that scrolls you down the same page to an enquiry form. No court grid, no calendar, no platform behind either link.
  • Every call to action is a membership pitch. Both prominent buttons read "CLAIM YOUR FOUNDING SPOT" — one scrolling to the contact form, one to the membership page.
  • The brand's older Boston page is still a waitlist. mouratoglou.com/en/international/padel-in-boston/ is titled "Padel Coming Soon," invites visitors to "join the waitlist to be among the first to discover padel in Boston," and has not been touched since February 24, 2026.
  • The page furniture is still template filler. The three listed events are dated February, March and April 2024, and they sit beside five-star testimonials from members of a club that has not opened. That is unfinished scaffolding, not a programme calendar.

None of this is unusual for a venue at this stage. It just is not an open club.

What a Founding Membership Costs

The membership page publishes five tiers. The founding offer is the one being actively sold:

  • Founding member — $129/month, limited to the first 100 members, with the $199 initiation fee waived. Reserving a spot takes a $99 deposit, credited to your first month and non-refundable.
  • Individual — $149/month, plus the $199 initiation fee
  • Couple — $249/month for two people, plus $199 initiation
  • Family — $349/month for two adults and two children, plus $199 initiation
  • Junior — $75/month for under-21s, plus $199 initiation

Membership buys priority booking up to 14 days out, member rates on courts and coaching, and members-only leagues and socials.

That is the standard pre-opening play: waive initiation, discount the rate, cap the cohort, collect a deposit that converts to revenue on day one. It signals an operator close enough to opening to want committed members — without committing to a date in writing. Read the $99 terms before paying it: non-refundable, with no published date attached.

Mouratoglou's Five-Club US Padel Push

Malden is one of five US clubs on the M Padel site, alongside Cincinnati, Ohio (eight indoor padel courts), San Antonio, Texas (eight indoor and four outdoor), Zephyrhills, Florida (five outdoor) and the Mouratoglou Tennis Center in Noblesville, Indiana (six indoor padel courts). All five pages were edited within the past ten days.

Keep Malden and Noblesville distinct: separate projects, and Noblesville is a tennis centre adding padel. Malden is the only one of the five selling founding memberships.

What It Means for Boston Padel

Massachusetts has seven tracked clubs plus three collegiate programmes. Six courts would put Malden level with PADELHUB Boston in the Seaport and Padel Boston in Dedham at the top of the state's court counts — a strong opening, but not the regional anchor an eight-court read would suggest. Open Play Pickleball & Padel in Hopkinton, with eight padel courts, is still the biggest project coming to New England, and also still pre-opening.

What Malden adds is geography. Boston's open courts sit in the Seaport, Hyde Park and Dedham — central and south. Malden is north, within reach of Medford, Somerville, Cambridge and the North Shore, the gap in the metro's map right now.

For the wider picture, see our guides to padel in Boston and the suburban clubs, plus our trackers for padel in the Northeast and new facilities opening in 2026.

We will update this post when an opening date is published. Spec, pricing and page modification dates were verified on the operator's own pages on October 9, 2026.
