Padel Gear You Can't Buy in the US (and What to Buy)
What's really missing from US shelves in 2026 — and what to buy instead
Most "best padel gear" lists a US search turns up were written for European buyers. The brand topping the shoe roundup has no US distribution, the frame protector every guide leads with was never imported, and plenty of the product links point at a Spanish store that quotes you dollars and then leaves you the duty bill.
So we checked what a US buyer can actually put in a cart. On 8 October 2026 we pulled the live product feeds of four US-registered storefronts — Racket Central, Padel USA, Tennis Express and Padel Padel — plus two European stores for comparison. Every number below comes from those feeds on that date.
The headline: the gap is narrower than it was six months ago, and it has moved. Two of the three brands the EU-written lists call unavailable are now on a US shelf — just not the shelf you'd expect.
Shoes: still the biggest hole, but not where the lists say
Asics: the gap closed, at exactly one store
A year of US padel guides said you couldn't buy Asics padel shoes in America. That is no longer true. Tennis Express stocks 17 Asics padel listings today, $94.95 to $164.95, across three families — GEL-Resolution X, SonicSmash FF and GEL-Challenger 15.
The catch is that it is one store. Racket Central's padel shoe shelf runs to 36 listings and holds no Asics at all; its collection page is titled, in so many words, "Adidas, Babolat, Wilson, Nox." Padel USA carries zero Asics across 342 products. If Tennis Express is out of your size, there is no second US source.
Two corrections: the "GEL" in those model names is inherited from Asics' tennis line, not a cushioning claim — none of the US listings' spec blocks name a GEL unit. And Asics sells no padel direct to US customers; its own /us/en-us/padel/ path is a live 404.

Asics Men's GEL-Challenger 15 Padel Shoes
The cheapest way into the Asics padel range here, and the one to take if you want a real size run rather than the leftovers — this colourway had 16 of 17 sizes in stock. Asics spans men's 6 to 15 in the US, the deepest men's run of any padel brand sold here and the only one starting at a 6.

Joma: 23 shoes on its own US site, none of them buyable
Joma is the sharpest illustration of what "not available in the US" really looks like, because Joma does run a US storefront. Its US padel footwear page lists 23 shoes priced in dollars, $100 to $150 — the current 2026 range: Open Men 26, Slam and Slam Classic 26, Ultra Light 26, Rapid Men 26, Spin Men 26, Electric Lady 26.
Every one is out of stock. All 24 offer blocks on that page carry schema.org/OutOfStock, and the page has no add-to-cart control anywhere on it. It is a catalogue wearing a shop's clothes.
Everywhere else: Racket Central returns zero results for "joma" store-wide. Padel USA has none. Padel Padel is the only US retailer with Joma padel shoes on the shelf at all, and it holds five of 55 size variants in stock across five listings — one size of the Master 1000, two of the Smash, two of the Set. Their reference codes end in 23xx and 24xx: 2023 and 2024 stock, two seasons behind what Joma's own US page advertises as current.
Worth knowing if you go reading Joma's range: it files its clay shoes under padel, not tennis — its tennis footwear is the Ace line. A Slam Classic 26 clay is a padel shoe, not a misfiled tennis one.
Bullpadel: shoes arrived, in European sizes only
This changed recently, and it is the post's good news. Bullpadel padel shoes are now stocked in the US — at Padel Padel only, which lists 12: Premier Padel P1 and P2 at $139.99, Premier Major at $179.99, Neuron 26V at $159.99, Icon 26V and Hybrid Fly 26V at $119.99, Indiga 25I at $129.99, plus four older models with nothing left.
Racket Central has Bullpadel rackets and overgrips but no footwear; Padel USA carries 30 Bullpadel products, none of them shoes. One catch: the footwear is sized in European numbers only, 36 to 46, with no US conversion on the listing — the Joma listings on that same site give both.

Bullpadel Premier Padel P2 26V
The best-stocked Bullpadel shoe in the country: 30 of 51 variants live across three colourways, which for a brand with zero US footwear presence a year ago is a real shift. A hybrid outsole and a midsole-integrated heel stabiliser put it at the all-round end of the range rather than the stiff competition end. Size in EU numbers and check the chart twice.

What to buy instead
If the brand you came for still isn't here, the substitutes are — and they're cheaper. Racket Central's 36-listing shoe shelf is NOX 11, K-Swiss 8, Adidas 5, Kanso Sports 5, Wilson 3, Babolat 3, Head 1. K-Swiss is where the value sits: roomier last, hardest discounts. More in our shoe buying guide, budget picks and wide-feet guide.

K-Swiss Men's Speedtrac Padel
Marked down to $84 from $140 with 11 of 13 sizes in stock — men's 7 through 13, missing only 8 and 12.5. A 40% cut with an intact size run is rare, and it is exactly what the EU lists can't show you, because K-Swiss barely registers in European padel retail.

The model-year lag, measured
The usual version of this claim — "US stores sell last year's models" — is wrong. In-stock listings with "2027" in the title:
- padelusa.com: 0 (of 342 products)
- us.padelmarket.com: 0 (of 424)
- usaplayspadel.com: 0 (of 100 — the official US StarVie distributor)
- padelmarket.com, Spain: 68 — Bullpadel 23, StarVie 23, Nox 12, Babolat 6, Adidas 4
- padelproshop.com, Spain: 38 — Bullpadel 17, StarVie 11, Babolat 8, Oxdog 1
The lag is real, but it lives at the leading edge, not on the shelf. The US shelf is mostly current: Padel USA has 52 in-stock 2026 listings against 7 from 2025. What you can't get here is next season's gear, already shipping in Spain.
The cleanest example is Babolat's flagship line. European stores sell the Viper 3.1 and Veron 3.1, badged 2027; US stores are on the 2.5 and 2.6 generation — Air Viper 2.6, Counter Viper 2.6, Technical Viper 2.5. A full generation, not a colourway. Babolat's Premura 3 shoes, by contrast, are already at Padel USA, so this runs line by line rather than brand-wide.
Because clearance follows release, late arrival also means late discounts on stock that is still current: 6 of 7 in-stock 2025 titles at Padel USA are marked down (86%) against 35 of 52 for 2026 (67%). One caveat that trips up a lot of deal advice — markdown rate is store policy, not season, so one store's discount depth tells you about the store. Our when to buy padel gear guide handles timing properly.
Frame protectors: one real category in the whole country
Every European guide leads its protector section with the HEAD Antishock Skin. It was never imported, and neither was anything from Decathlon's Kuikma range — both return zero across all four US stores, including all 1,277 products at Padel Padel.
What does exist:
- Padel Padel is the only US retailer with a dedicated racket protectors category — 16 products, $8.99 to $19.99, 14 of 16 in stock. Single units from Incro, Bullpadel and the house brand at $8.99.
- Racket Central has exactly two padel protectors across 249 collections, and no category to put them in: the Adidas Antishock Protection Tape at $9.95 and the Osaka Padel Bumper at $9.00.
- Padel USA and Tennis Express have none. Searching either for "protector" returns pickleball edge guards.
The upshot is a pricing one: the real US band for a single protector is $9 to $12, not the $15–$25 European guides quote. If a US listing wants $20, it's a multi-pack. Our protector guide covers fitting.

Adidas Antishock Protection Tape
The closest US-stocked equivalent to the HEAD Antishock Skin the European guides recommend, and the one to buy if you'd rather not add a fifth store to your order. 3M adhesive, abrasion-resistant, fits the top edge of any frame, and priced right in the genuine US band.
Shape: Adhesive top-edge frame tape, 3M backing | Fits: Any padel frame | Stocked at: Racket Central
What "available" actually means
Three failure modes, all of which we hit while checking this list.
A listing is not a shelf. Joma's US page prices 23 shoes in dollars and stocks none of them, with no cart button. A product page proves a brand wants to sell to you.
"In stock" can mean one size. Joma at Padel Padel is technically available — five variants of 55. Open the size dropdown before treating a brand as covered, and check your own size is one of the live ones.
Retailer copy is not manufacturer spec. The Joma shoes at Padel Padel carry bulk tags like "Bullpadel Padel Racket" and "Metalbone CTRL 3.2," and two Bullpadel listings call padel footwear a "running shoe." These are all genuine padel shoes — but the listing text isn't what proves it. Check the maker's own catalogue, which is how we confirmed Joma's clay shoes really are padel.
Import math: why ordering from Spain stopped making sense
The US $800 de minimis exemption is gone. It ended for all countries on 29 August 2025, and an interim final rule effective 24 June 2026 made the suspension indefinite for everything arriving outside the international postal network, with a statutory repeal following on 1 July 2027. A single pair of shoes from a Spanish store is now a dutiable import. Athletic footwear with a textile upper and rubber or plastic sole falls under HTS 6404.11 at a 20% most-favoured-nation duty, before whatever brokerage fee the carrier adds.
But the real cost is warranty and returns, not shipping. A cracked frame or delaminated midsole bought from Spain is an international RMA at your expense, against a retailer with no US presence — and a sizing mistake on EU-numbered footwear you can't return free is an expensive lesson. If the gear is buyable here within one generation, buy it here.
The honest exception: a specific frame or shoe you have played in, know your size in, and genuinely cannot get here within a season — narrower than most import advice implies.
The practical US buying order
- Racket Central for rackets, protectors, balls and most shoe brands — deepest catalogue, and the only US stockist for Oxdog.
- Padel USA for Bullpadel, Siux and Head rackets, and Osaka footwear.
- Tennis Express for Asics padel shoes — the only US source — and counterforce straps.
- Padel Padel for what nobody else carries: frame protectors, Bullpadel and Joma shoes, padel-specific socks, and the only US used-racket program.
- Europe last, and only for a model you know you need in a size you're certain of, accepting 20% duty and a return trip you'd pay for yourself.

Best Padel Ankle Brace & Knee Supports 2026: US Picks
The ankle and foot is the most commonly injured region in padel, ahead of the elbow — yet almost every padel brace guide that ranks is a UK or EU storefront. Padel Clothing Brands 2026: What US Retailers Stock
We went through every padel garment in stock at the three US retailers that genuinely carry apparel — about 500 items — and priced them in dollars. Tennis kit covers most of it, Bullpadel and Drop Shot are the brands worth importing, and Nox, StarVie and Joma clothing simply is not sold here.
