Cincinnati Sports Club Padel: Two Covered Courts in October
Two covered outdoor courts in Fairfax give the city a second padel venue - and the metro its third.
Two courts on Red Bank Road, due this month
Cincinnati Sports Club is building two covered outdoor padel courts on its Fairfax campus, and the club's own racquet sports page puts the date at October 2026 — which means this month. As of 13 October the courts were still listed as coming rather than open, so treat the date as a target, not a booking window.
The project has slipped once already. The club's dedicated padel page still carries the line "Coming Summer 2026," while its broader racquet sports page has been revised to "Coming in October 2026 - 2 outdoor covered Padel courts & 2 more outdoor pickleball courts." Where two pages on the same site disagree, the more specific and more recently updated one is the better guide.
The cover is the part that matters in Ohio. Every other padel court in Greater Cincinnati sits in the open air, which makes the shoulder seasons a gamble. A roof turns November and March from write-offs into playable months without the cost of a fully enclosed building.

Cincinnati Sports Club
A 16-acre, locally owned health and racquet club on Red Bank Road, a few minutes from Hyde Park and Oakley. The padel courts land next to an expanded Community Racquet Hut — an indoor-outdoor gathering space the club is enlarging in the same round of work — which tells you how padel is meant to function here: a social sport with somewhere to sit afterwards, rather than a league engine.

Cincinnati's second padel venue
Inside the city limits, this is venue number two. Club Padel Newtown got there first, and we covered its arrival in Club Padel Cincinnati: Ohio's first outdoor padel club. Between them, the city will have six padel courts.
Widen the lens to the metro and it is three. The Cincinnati Open Sporting Club in Mason — the former Lindner Family Tennis Center, home of the ATP and WTA Cincinnati Open — opened two glass-walled outdoor courts in March 2026. When the Sports Club announced its plan, Local 12 reported it would be one of only two venues in Greater Cincinnati to offer the sport. The Mason courts opened two weeks later and made it three.
How it compares with Club Padel Newtown
The two are not really competing. Club Padel Newtown is a commercial destination — four outdoor courts at the Robert James Park complex, with dining and a distillery on site, open to anyone who books. Cincinnati Sports Club is a members-only amenity, and its padel page is explicit that there are "no court fees for Club members." That is the standard trade at a club of this type: you pay dues, not court time.
So if you live on the east side and want to try padel this month, Newtown is the one you can simply book. The Red Bank Road courts are for people already paying for a membership — or weighing one up.

Club Padel Newtown
Four outdoor courts at a $15 million park complex on the east side, and still the only place in the city where a visitor with no membership and no local contacts can book a court and play. Dining and a distillery share the site, which makes it an easier sell for a first game than a bare set of courts would be.

A full-service athletic club, not a padel specialist
Worth being clear about what this venue is. Cincinnati Sports Club runs year-round tennis, indoor and outdoor pickleball, platform tennis, basketball, aquatics, a fitness floor and a spa. Padel is an addition to that mix, not the headline act.
That framing also explains the court count. Local 12 reported the 2026 work as the largest reinvestment in the club's 36-year history, under a master plan it calls Club Vision 2040, and noted the new pickleball courts would take the outdoor total to 13. That 13 covers tennis and pickleball — padel is the two covered courts, full stop. The same release quotes Mary Frank, vice president of sales and marketing: "Our Club is one of the few in the country to have a Master Plan vision, and we are currently operating under Club Vision 2040."
Padel arriving as one line item in a racquet-sports refresh is now the most common way the sport reaches an American city — the pattern we traced in why country clubs are adding padel courts in 2026.
Ohio's padel map in late 2026
Ohio has seven padel venues on our books, four of them open and holding 13 courts between them. The state splits cleanly in two.
Cleveland has the depth: Padel Square runs six climate-controlled indoor courts in a converted retail box in Garfield Heights, and Cleveland Premier Padel has a single indoor court in Avon Lake. Cincinnati has the other six — four in Newtown, two in Mason — and reaches eight once Red Bank Road opens.
Cincinnati, Columbus and the Lewis Center project
Columbus is the gap. CLVB Padel has been planning the city's first dedicated club, with indoor courts under a 28-foot roof and openable side doors, but has published no opening date. Twenty miles north, NewGen Racquet Club in Lewis Center is adding padel to an established indoor racquet club that already runs pickleball, tennis and badminton courts — also undated. We covered both in CLVB Padel: Columbus, Ohio's first dedicated padel club and NewGen Racquet Club: padel coming to Lewis Center, and both sit on our Q4 2026 watchlist.
