Boca Paddle by CityPickle: 6 Padel Courts in Boca Raton
A New York pickleball operator is building its first padel courts — six of them — inside a $20M, 100,000 sq ft Boca Raton complex
Every outlet that covered the paddle-sports complex rising on West Jeffery Street led with the same number: 19 pickleball courts. Boca Paddle by CityPickle is also building six padel courts, and nobody has written that half of the story. Here it is, using the club's own published numbers.
CityPickle Brings Padel to Boca Raton
CityPickle is a New York pickleball operator. Its clubs — Times Square, Long Island City, Wollman Rink in Central Park, and a Brooklyn Bridge site listed as coming soon — do not include a single padel court between them. Boca Raton will be the company's first.
That is a more interesting bet than the coverage suggests. A pickleball brand is committing six courts, a separate pricing sheet, and dedicated padel programming to a sport it has never operated. Florida is the logical place to try it: with 93 padel clubs, it is the largest padel state in the country.
The club's homepage now carries a firm date — Grand Opening: November 18. CityPickle's earlier announcement said only "Fall 2026," so treat November 18 as the club's current wording rather than a construction guarantee. Nothing is bookable until the doors open.

Boca Paddle by CityPickle
Fifty West Jeffery Street sits in the light-industrial pocket north of downtown Boca Raton, minutes from Mizner Park. The padel courts are the quieter half of a 100,000 sq ft build whose marquee feature is a stadium pickleball court. For padel players the relevant detail is that this will be the only venue in the city pairing glass courts with saunas, cold plunges, a co-working lounge, a pro shop and a full restaurant — while still renting courts to people who have not joined a country club.
Courts: 6 | Type: Mixed
What's Being Built
Twenty-five courts across 100,000 square feet, on a budget local press put at $20 million. CityPickle's own release breaks the courts down precisely:
- Padel (6): 2 indoor, 4 outdoor covered
- Pickleball (19): 14 indoor, 4 outdoor, 1 covered stadium court
That split matters, because court counts at mixed venues are routinely reported as one number. Every court gets professional lighting, cushioned surfaces and sound attenuation. The padel courts are billed as high-clearance, but no figure has been published — worth asking about, since ceiling height decides whether indoor lobs are playable at all.
The Amenities
Locker rooms with showers, saunas and cold plunges, a warm-up and recovery zone, a curated pro shop, and a co-working space with phone booths. The restaurant and bar is presented by Farmer's Table, a long-running Boca favourite whose co-founder is listed among the club's partners. The partner roster also includes Butters Construction & Development, Life Time founder Bahram Akradi, and three Major League Pickleball team owners.
Home of the Palm Beach Royals
Worth stating plainly: the Palm Beach Royals are a Major League Pickleball franchise, not a padel team. The stadium court is being branded The Royal Court, and the team plays road matches through 2026 before making Boca Raton its home base in 2027.
The same tilt shows in the pro partners — Ben Johns, Anna Bright, Gabe Tardio, Jorja Johnson and JW Johnson are all pickleball players. Head pro Martin Emmrich is a former ATP doubles player, career-high No. 35 and a Germany Davis Cup representative, now competing on the PPA Tour. No padel name is attached to the project yet. The padel here is a serious facility investment, not yet a serious padel brand.
What Padel Will Cost
The club has already published 2026 padel rates, which is unusual this far ahead of opening:
| Court | Member peak | Member off-peak | Non-member peak | Non-member off-peak |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Indoor | $100 | $75 | $120 | $75 |
| Outdoor covered | $80 | $60 | $100 | $60 |
Off-peak is Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. Split four ways, an off-peak covered court costs $15 a player; an indoor peak court as a non-member is $30. Padel is priced well above pickleball in the same building — indoor peak pickleball is $60 for members against $100 for padel.
Memberships carry no initiation fee and bill monthly: Community $49, Standard $149 and Plus $299 for an individual, with couple and family tiers running to $549. Annual billing includes a free month, cancellation takes 30 days' notice, and booking windows run 3 days on Community, 10 on Standard and 14 on Plus. A $40 day pass gets a non-member member-rate court access for the day.
One catch deserves flagging: open play, leagues and social programmes are members-only. Non-members can rent a court and take intro clinics, nothing else. Padel needs four players, so the organised play that actually solves partner-finding sits behind the dues — a real consideration if you are used to Padel X Boca Raton, where Playtomic handles matchmaking with no membership at all.
Where It Fits in Boca Raton's Padel Scene
Boca Raton has four open padel venues with 17 courts between them. Boca Paddle's six would push the city past 23 — a 35% jump from a single opening.
| Club | Courts | Type | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Padel X Boca Raton | 8 | Indoor, 30 ft | Commercial |
| Boca Paddle by CityPickle | 6 | Mixed | Commercial — opening soon |
| The Club at Boca Pointe | 4 | Outdoor | Members only |
| LEGIO GP PADEL WORLD | 3 | Outdoor | Commercial |
| Boca Grove | 2 | Outdoor | Members only |
A third of the city's existing padel sits behind country-club gates. Boca Grove was the first club in South Florida to put in padel, and The Club at Boca Pointe added four LED-lit courts — the pattern we traced in why country clubs are adding padel. Boca Paddle lands on the commercial side alongside Padel X and LEGIO GP PADEL WORLD, but at a scale and amenity level neither matches.
How to Play There
Nothing can be booked yet. Memberships are being released in pre-sale drops, the Community tier is still listed as coming soon, and the club is running hard hat tours of the site before opening.
If November 18 holds, the cheapest way in is an off-peak covered court or a day pass; if you want leagues and open play, you will need to be a member. Until then, the four open clubs in our Boca Raton padel guide and the wider Palm Beach County guide can get you on court this week, and every new build is tracked in our 2026 US openings tracker. If you are arriving from the pickleball side of the building, start with padel vs pickleball.
