Fairgrounds Leaside
Fairgrounds Leaside is the first location of the Fairgrounds pickleball and padel clubs, set in an old warehouse at 849 Eglinton Ave E in Toronto. It has 4 padel courts and 11 pickleball courts. The club offers food and drink, a pro shop, change rooms and a sauna, and lessons by appointment.
Anyone can play, either paying per play or buying a membership. Booking and payment are handled in the PodPlay app. Padel memberships include monthly court-pass plans and an annual unlimited plan, and a Leaside membership is valid at all Fairgrounds locations. The club runs open play, socials, leagues and kids' programs and hosts private events for up to 60 guests. It is open from 7 am to 11 pm Monday to Saturday and from 7 am to 10 pm on Sunday.

What Players Say
This was our first time visiting the Fairgrounds and booking a court online. We played on July 31 and booked a two-hour session from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We were assigned Court 11 through the online booking system—we didn't have the option to choose our court. We expected all of the indoor courts to be air-conditioned, but Court 11 was a complete surprise. It is literally a garage that has been converted into a court, not a typical indoor sports court. The original garage doors are still there, with a sign saying they should not be opened, leaving very little ventilation or airflow. Even from 6:00–8:00 PM, the heat inside was overwhelming and almost unbearable. We tried to push through our booking, but it became extremely uncomfortable to play. Going back and forth between the sweltering court and the air-conditioned common area also didn't feel healthy. To be clear, our disappointment is only with Court 11. The rest of the facility was clean and well maintained. We hope management can improve the ventilation or cooling for Court 11, especially during the summer months. Until then, I'd strongly recommend to avoid court 11, If we had known in advance that Court 11 was a converted garage and not a standard indoor court, or if there had been a clear notice during the booking process, we would have either canceled our reservation or rebooked for a different court.

I don’t usually write reviews, but after my experience at Fairgrounds, I felt compelled to share. I first attended a friend’s birthday party there and had such a great time that I decided to host my own event. While the pricing is on the higher side, it was absolutely worth it. My event was fairly elaborate, and the entire team exceeded my expectations. The events coordinator was fantastic, friendly, responsive, and always available to answer questions throughout the planning process, including during non business hours over the phone. On the day of the event, the staff and coach made sure everyone felt welcomed, comfortable and had a great time. Overall, it was a seamless and memorable experience. I highly recommend Fairgrounds for anyone looking to host a fun well-organized event.
