Salt Lake City's west side finally has its padel club open. The Hive Padel Club ran its opening weekend on Saturday, September 26, 2026, closing out a summer of moving target dates. It arrives with five indoor courts, a sauna, a café, and an introductory court rate that is currently the cheapest way to get on a padel court anywhere in Utah.

The Hive sits in the light-industrial belt west of I-215, off 4800 West — an unglamorous stretch of warehouses and freight yards that happens to be about ten minutes from both the airport and downtown Salt Lake City. It is the first dedicated padel club to open inside Salt Lake City proper; the clubs that beat it to market in the valley are all suburban, in Woods Cross and West Jordan.
All five courts are indoor and climate-controlled, which in a valley that runs from 100°F in July to inversion season in January is the whole point. The club lists planned hours of 8 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, and has five padel coaches on staff for lessons and clinics.

No, there is no outdoor court
This one needs correcting, because it has spread across the padel directories: several aggregator listings describe The Hive as four indoor courts plus "Utah's first outdoor padel court." That is wrong. The club's own website and its own booking platform both describe five indoor, climate-controlled courts, and the word "outdoor" does not appear anywhere on either. If you are looking for outdoor padel in Utah, The Hive is not it.
What else is in the building
The Hive is pitched as somewhere you linger rather than a place you rent a court and leave. Alongside the courts there is a gym, a sauna, showers, a café, a lounge, an arcade, and a work pod for anyone treating a midday match as a long lunch. A ball machine, racket demos, a massage chair, and an AI camera system for recording matches round out the amenities, and there is a pro shop on site.
Families are explicitly part of the plan: juniors under 18 play at half price, and the club has committed to free kids days and junior-specific clinics.
What it costs
Walk-up guests pay $20 per hour for court time, $30 for an open play session, and $20 per use for the gym, sauna, and other amenities. For opening weekend the club is running court time at $13 per hour, a 33% discount, plus 10% off all memberships.
Two membership tiers are published. Social is $79/month and includes six hours of free play, $20 open plays, 15% off clinics, and two guest passes a month. Plus is $165/month with eight hours of free play, free open plays, free amenity access, 50% off events, and 10 guest passes a year. Both carry a three-month minimum commitment and a 10-day booking window. Paying annually saves two months and unlocks the club's founder tier — a private locker, an engraving on the founders wall, and a welcome bag.
How to book
Booking runs through OpenCourt, and the club has its own branded OpenCourt apps for iOS and Android. Worth knowing if you search for the club: an older PlayByPoint booking page for The Hive still surfaces in Google results but now returns a 404, so go through OpenCourt or the app. The club also runs a WhatsApp group for open play and pickup games.
Utah's padel map is filling in fast
The Hive is the seventh padel club on our Utah map, and the state has gone from one facility to a genuine cluster inside about eighteen months. SLC Padel Club in Woods Cross was first, with four indoor courts under 30-foot ceilings and a 4.9-star rating. Padel Park Utah added six courts in West Jordan. South in Utah County, Conquer Padel Club Lehi is the largest in the state at seven courts, Padel Den has five in Orem, and the members-only Utah City Racquet Club opened four on the shore of Utah Lake. Metro Padel Club is still pre-opening in Salt Lake City and taking waitlist signups.
There is a collegiate angle, too. The student-run University of Utah Padel Club has no courts of its own and plays its sessions at The Hive — so the new club arrives with a built-in roster of students walking in the door.
