About Oakland Padel

Oakland Padel is a new outdoor padel club on the Oakland waterfront at Embarcadero Cove, just off I-880. It was built by Oaklanders who used to take their kids and friends across the Bay Bridge to play, loved the game, and wanted somewhere closer to home that cost less. The club is opening with two courts and a simple pricing model: you book the court, and the group splits it.

Opening soon: the courts are expected to be delivered on November 11, 2026, with a soft opening targeted for mid-November. The club describes that date as a target, not a confirmed opening.

The Courts

Oakland Padel has 2 lighted outdoor padel courts on a 10,000 sq ft fenced lot, so up to eight people can play at once. Booked players will get 24/7 access to the courts with a booking code. Around the courts there is more than 5,000 sq ft of space to gather between matches, and families are welcome, with kids staying in the care of their adults.

Pricing

  • 60 minutes: $75 per court, or $18.75 each when four players split it
  • 90 minutes: $112.50 per court, or about $28 each

You reserve the whole court, not individual places. Reservations are free for now, and payment details will follow before opening.

Lounge, Recovery and Meeting Space

Across from the courts is about 3,000 sq ft of indoor space with a lounge and bathrooms that booked players can use 24/7. It also has two conference rooms, one for meetings of up to ten, and two treatment rooms where the club plans to offer seated sports massage after play. Corporate teams, birthdays, school groups and community organizations can ask about group days and meeting space.

Coming Soon

  • Patty Hour: solo practice with Patty, an AI-powered ball machine that moves around the court and adjusts pace, spin and placement. $49 for 60 minutes, with court, rackets and balls included. Patty is expected in early November.
  • Family Court Hours: set times for families to play, with details to follow.
  • Sports recovery: seated sports massage in the treatment rooms.

The club's court partner is Mike Erwin of Lefty Padel, who has more than 30 years in racket sports and has helped build padel courts at the University of the Pacific and across California.

Location & Getting There

Oakland Padel is at 2102 Dennison Street, Suite B, Oakland, CA 94606, at Dennison and Cotton Street between the Embarcadero and I-880. It is on the Oakland side of the water, so you do not cross onto Coast Guard Island. From I-880, take Exit 39B (23rd Avenue). There are four dedicated parking spaces beside the courts and more gated parking beside the office. Alameda is about 4 minutes away and downtown Oakland about 6.

Reserve a Court

Courts can be reserved at oaklandpadel.com/book by creating an account. The club has not yet confirmed whether rackets and balls will be available at opening, so check with them at rob@oaklandpadel.com before your first visit.
