❔ Question ❔

What type of sessions should I go to as a beginner?

Hi, I'm 26M and looking to start padel having 0 racket sport experience, largely because im competitive and need to make new friends. I'm in the UK if it matters. What types of sessions should I go to? Beginner sessions? (4 people and a coach?).Social sessions? (With 8 people? Not sure what that involves) These seem to be the two main ones i see. I dont want to be frustrating for people im playing with. Also potentially a silly question but is Padel good for making friends? Or do people play and go home pretty quick. Thank you!

Beginner sessions if you don't know the rules. Once you've got the basics then socials are good from there

To understand the basics do a couple of private lessons with a coach to start with. 1-2 times per week for a month or two. After that you can join beginner social sessions like Mexicano or Americano

Hello mate, Where abouts in the UK are you? I'm in Manchester so can show you the ropes if you're round here. Padel is very sociable. From playing with randoms on playtomic to clubs putting on social events, there's so many ways to meet new people.

Essex sadly but appreciated it. Most of the places near me have a lack of social events it seems!

Have a look on playtomic, a lot of the socials are posted on there

Intro to padel, beginner sessions, etc. If in doubt, message the club or community to ask! I don't think private coaching is very productive if you're completely new. Many clubs will have intro nights for complete beginners.

As for the social part. It's definitely a good way to get to learn people. At least it is over here. Not in the competitive matches themselves, but in events organized by the club.
