Padel camp - need recommendations!

1114 commentsu/DullAppointment3193w ago
Hi all. My birthdays coming and I want to treat myself between July - September. Im trying to look for a worth-it padel camp experience. I not only want to get coached by professionals, but also have the opportunity to play with players from around the world. And also have a much needed break of my own. Im an extrovert so dont mind doing social stuff either. I am not an advanced or intermediate player, but I’m in the process of taking lessons locally. I would now like to travel and get coached by a foreign professional, but need your advice: 1. How’s the padel retreat? Anyone participated yet and think it’s worth it? The places are Indonesia, Greece and Maldives 2. Padel camp . Com showed some lessons but again, have no idea how they are. Let me know your thoughts and recommendations - appreciate if you can help me as I’m desperately looking for answers and not sure who to ask because my friends don’t play 🥲

Hey bro, I looked into the padel retreats in SEA (especially Indonesia and Thailand) offered by the clubs themselves. For me, none of them jumped out spectacularly in terms of what I wanted both in terms of offering, scope, timing, price, etc. I ended up putting my own little retreat together. It's a bit more work, but I think it's worth the effort. You're able to customise the experience based on your goals (e.g. mine was a bit more improvement focused), and flexibility on time as well as the social element. I believe padel retreats put together by communities/social groups are the way forward as they'll offer more modularity and are tailored designed for the social element in mind, not so much to maximise the club's profit opportunities (i.e. fill placement in classes/product offerings that aren't as popular). If you want to chat more, DM me! I'm happy to share my research on the clubs in SEA/Indonesia.

If you want to do padel tourism, any of those should be fine IMO. I went to play padel in Bali and had a blast, but my intention was not to learn or improve, just to have fun and enjoy the place. If you want to really learn, I would advise Spain. I have never been to an academy there but I really want to. Spain or Argentina (cheaper) but those are the places to go if you want to take it more seriously.
