What "pre", "during" and "post" game rituals you follow to stay healthy and injury free if you play quite often ?

Let us share some useful tips and advice in general that you can do to stay healthy and keep playing Padel for as long as possible. I will share some of mine: Pre game: \- I apply "anti fungal and anti bacterial" powder on my feet before putting the socks on. Significantly reduces the chances of getting athletes foot \- I apply coconut oil on my joints, armpits and private areas \- Try to reach early to get some warmup done before the game During the game: \- Wear knee braces. Even if you think you don't need them and you don't feel any difference, they are quite useful \- Take as much water and keep it near the court as possible. Sometimes we tend to skip drinking water (especially towards the end of the game) to not waste everyone's time \- Keep extra pairs of clean towels and avoid "overuse" of single towel After the game: \- Drink lots of water(obviously) \- Protein shake/bar soon enough \- change into dry clothes (even if they are temp before the shower) \- Shower as soon as possible

If I prep like this, I would inevitably just end up hitting the ball into the net for 90 minutes I warm up by 1. Arriving 2 to 3 minutes before the game starts and removing my racket from its thermally insulated plastic shopping bag. 2. One quick touch of the toes (one rep, Max ROM). 3. Smash five overheads into the net so that my opponent thinks that my smashes shit. 4. Missile to the back wall two times. 5. Complain that everybody else is taking too long to warm up. 6. Destroy my opponent and watch them start arguing with their partner, accusing them of sabotaging the match and sleeping with their wife. 7. Smoke a joint and try to remember to drink water between sets. 8. Eat 3 to 7 tacos from the taco place across the street. 9. Go home and masturbate. Edit: I do use coconut oil for step nine

The taco part is the most important step. Everything else is just psychology and coconut oil. Solid routine honestly. I'd lose to you just from laughing.

I drink water during the match... That's basically it. Warming up is the 5min of play vs your opponent.

that “warming up” is doing close to zero to prevent injury,

Can confirm. Have been out for two months due to calf injury. Still looking for a better warm up routine

I am 55 and I play 5 matches a week. One single thing that really helps me to keep playing every single day is to walk a long distance after my game. I will walk at least 2km after my game. Just a slow walk. This helps my knee and legs to recover.

As someone just recovering from a 4-6 month knee injury, I don't agree with wearing knee braces if you don't need them. Yes, braces will support your knee integrity by limiting movement in some capacity - this is why it might be recommended in certain situations - however, that stability/support mostly means that other areas of your body will be exerting more (lower back mostly) to compensate. If you still want to wear something, consider the lightest of braces or even kinesiotape.

I know I'm getting older because I start my warmup the day before the match.  Not even joking, I stretch multiple times a day, at this point daily since I'm playing so often.

About 20 minutes before I leave for a match, I stand in the shower completely still with my eyes closed while the water hits my shoulders. Then I slowly crouch down into the classic ‘naked Terminator arriving from the future’ pose and mentally prepare for war. I start visualising impossible bandejas. Unreturnable viboras. Opponents apologising after lucky net cords. I imagine myself calmly saying ‘vamos’ after every point like a man who has never known fear. Then, very slowly, I rise to full height while humming the Terminator theme and staring dead-eyed at the shower wall. For a few brief moments, I am no longer a 37-year-old man driving to a leisure centre in my local town - I am a genetically engineered padel super-soldier sent back through time to dominate social intermediate level. Then the shower curtain touches my leg and the illusion is destroyed.

Full body stretch warmup atleast 15min before game, electrolyte drink during game. Dry tower for hands and grip between sets. Light stretch at home. \- Why the coconut oil OP?

To prevent chafing. It works really well.

On cold days: Stretch my legs and lower back for about 5 minutes, in warm clothes. Then hit the ball for 5 minutes, last minute I take off my hoodie. Afterwards, vest in asap, and stretch again to cool down my muscles. On warm days I skip most of that, but I do try to stretch my lower back before and after.
