Also you need to learn the court positioning tactics. There was a moment you were on the right and your parallel was fully open. Then the point was lost cause you were in the middle of the court (no mans land) when you should have been at the net https://preview.redd.it/2hqjnlhdgb3h1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed20574e31699f27cdcc64eb6c334920bed32cf6

You need to start running or at least go mid court as you see the lob is short and the opponent is arming the smash

1) You stand a lot in no-mans land. You need to either retreat behind the service line to defend or get to the net. 2) Serve return lob is way too short. 3) You retrieve the smash nicely, but why do you run back after that. You should try to keep the net and your partner should follow you. 4) The overhead is hit with no real purpose and you keep standing in nomans land instead of trying to take the net. 5) The winning shot by the guy in yellow is completely random. He doesn't even move his feet (poor footwork is something all players in the video are guilty of)

You retrieve the Smash and after that you chilled in nomandsland.

Your bandeja was too easy to respond with the winner shot. You don’t have to do a winner there, but you must try to make it difficult for them to respond. A longer ball to the feet would’ve made it really difficult for them to find you that angle than won them the point

Thanks appreciate the feedback 👏

Stop watching and admiring your shots and get into correct position before your opponents return the ball.

Bad technique when returning the serve. You have used to much wrist without need when you could possibly extend your arm more which would be easier to not give short lobs to the opponents. Week volley without spin on the end of the round giving your opponent an easy ball (above net height) and staying on the “dead zone” afterwards. Thats a formula on how to lose the point

Wow 😮 Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate yous taking the time for it. I will take this on to my next game and try and drill into my head that I’m either at the net or I’m behind the service line. I don’t have the confidence of a smash, as you saw there a semi poor bandeja. Need have more conviction in it

Also, be sure to match your position to your partner. Many times they are at the net and you are 1 or 2 steps behind. They hit the ball and know if it's an opportunity, then you need to trust their instinct and back them up, by moving along with them.

Don't bother about the smash, you have plenty to improve before.

You don't need power. A deep soft bandeja down the middle to take the net is fine. An angled bandeja to the fence if you are feeling more daring.

Look, it obvious you have a lot to correct, because you are a low level player, but, in a more level-blind analysis, you were left out on the other side of the court and your opponent did a completely unexpected shot that turned out great, your partner is correct in applauding the guy. so it's nothing to worry about. You should be more mindful of being active in the court because for a moment you just watch your partner play but that's about it I'd say. Would this have happened if you observed proper court position? of course not, but you wouldn't be playing this match if that were the case.

Do split steps to gain split seconds, your reaction time is not good.

Positioning mostly. What are you doing back when your partner has the net.

Being brutally honest: - Return of serve was where it started to wrong imo. Poor return, gave them an easy overhead. - Return of serve could've been a deeper lob, low and back to the servers feet, anything low/flat wouldve been better than the short lob tbh. - When you scrambled the return you drifted back in NML - Then you played cross court and opened an angel for your oppo when it may have been better to play down the line and hold net. So probably shot choice and positioning let you down on this point. Only my opinion tho.....

Ngl, I read the title as "League boxing game" so I was expecting a discussion followed by a massive brawl lol

Don't leave the net unless you have to retrieve a lob (or other hard hit shot you can't volley

If I go and get a PT what should I say on thr things I need to work on to improve to get to next level

PT = Personal Trainer? Oh really no need to worry, you don’t need to tell them anything. They will watch you play 2min and know everything he will teach you. Much better insight than strangers of all levels watching a si gel point. Best of luck and keep enjoying!

Thanks! 🙏 I really appreciate the advice. I'm grateful for all the feedback here since, at the end of the day, I'm just looking to improve Correct PT = Personal Trainer

You need classes, you have no business inside a padel court yet, wasting time and money only..

u/Tommygun128OP3w ago
Ok…. And from that clip what do you recommend I focus on from a PT class
1
u/bennyrosso3w ago
Everything from the beginning, basic shots and the positioning wich is the main mistake you made on that point. Of course one single point is not much to watch but the level of all the players is of beginners with almost no lessons taken. How many lessons have you got in the past if you did?

u/GabrielQ19923w ago
Where is OP going to find classes that are dictated outside a padel court, since he isn't supposed to be inside one?

Okay. At this level you should already keep the line with your partner properly. Its really important to close free spaces like in this case.
