Elevated filming setup

04 commentsu/sweepshots4w ago
Hi Is anybody filming their matches from a more elevated point of view to enable them to get a more broadcast style view when watching/sharing match footage? Ideally being able to see all corners of the court as well as lines is the ideal so that I can not only analyse performance from a technical/tactical point of view but also it would allow me to generate physical data metrics, like speed, heatmaps etc. What do people use to film "full court" and is there an affordable solution currently available?

few options depending on budget: **DIY (\~€100-200):** gopro or insta360 on a clamp/pole at the back fence \~3-4m up. captures footage but no metrics/heatmaps. **purpose-built (\~€500-1500):** veo cam 2 is the standout - ai-tracks the ball, full-court wide angle, auto-highlights, no operator needed. monthly sub on top of hardware. **club-installed (pay-per-match):** playsight, sportbox, padel.tv. many clubs have these - €10-15 per match gets you tracked footage with heatmaps, shot speed, trajectories. ask your club, more have it than you'd expect. honest take: check if any club near you has playsight/padel.tv first - way cheaper than €1000+ hardware. if not, veo cam 2 is the best self-owned option for 2026. heatmaps/speed metrics aren't possible from a single gopro, you need ai-tracking systems for that.

I'm looking for a basic and cheap setup but I couldn't find a solution. I've purchased a simple suction magsafe compatible holder and it broke in no time. I don't want to give 30 euros to acepad just for a piece of plastic, worth 1 euro of material. It's incredible how few solutions are there.

Thanks, that is exactly the issues I have found. Some options look like they were 3D printed in a bedroom and even then they charge way too much. I was hoping I could find something that was a little more solid and hardwearing that I could mount higher up to get a more complete view of the court, but this is proving harder than I first imagined.

Just adding that Xbotgo has a decent alternative with NO subscription needed. Haven't used it for padel, just football. Image is good, tracking not great but probably not needed for Padel. No AI highlights though
