Looking for feedback on my serve — posture, timing, toss, anything helps

Hey everyone, sharing a clip of my first serve to get some outside eyes on it. I know it's far from clean but I'm not sure exactly what the main issues are. If anyone can point out problems with my stance, the ball toss height, contact point, or timing, I'd really appreciate it. Happy to hear any other observations too — nothing is off limits. https://youtu.be/IlnD7mXYET4?si=FGJNGohL3M1Ncrk6 Thanks in advance.

* Toss: You throw the ball up. Most good players bounce it downwards with their left hand. * Preparation: You want to already hold the racket at the highest point before you even bounce it. Right now you are taking the racket back after the toss. * Preparation: Racket is facing the right wall. Most pros have it either facing forward or a bit downwards. * Contact point: Upon contact, your racket tip is pointing a bit downwards, while you want it to point sideways (to the right wall) * Contact point: It is currently at knee height. Should be at belly button height. You should be moving the racket forwards and slightly down as you contact. Right now you hit it while racket goes up. * Step into the court with your right foot right after hitting the serve

Thanks for the video, very easy to understand but hard to put it to work well on the court for me haha…

Basically do the exact opposite of what you're currently doing and it'll be bang on

Hit high to low. Not low to high

Other have given good advice so far. The thing I would add is when practising your serve also start heading to the net. Your serve motion should bring you forward as the main aim of the serve is just to get you to the net so you want to get used to the feeling of having forward momentum as you serve, you want your weight forward as you contact the ball. This will help with some of the other things as well. Keep it up!

Lots of detailed comments, but let me just make two suggestions that are more 'feeling' oriented. Firstly, I dont think the way you're practicing the serve is going to yield rewards. The serve is a very intentional shot, and knocking out balls quickly is going to train that. Make each practice ball deliberate - this includes the transition forward. Basically, each ball should be practiced as a complete serve. Make it VERY intentional and focus intensely on that one ball - just like in a match. Second is a technique tip. It really helped me to imagine that I'm leaning into the court - so as I prepare my left hand to bounce the ball down, my right hand goes up past my own head. This helps with weight transfer, but also with racquet prep and rotation - so almost imagine your two shoulders are coupled with a steel rod, and as you move your ball hand down, your racquet hand has to come up. Try it - maybe not your thing, but its something I still use to help my serve technique.
