The blue courts I play on release a crazy amount of blue fibers. Isn't this like really toxic?

Yes it's really toxic and everyone should stop playing especially around 5pm when I can never get a damn court

Of course it does. These bits are the macro stuff. The smaller fragments are getting in through breathing.

Having the same issue, the more courts get used the worse it gets. It’s everywhere, you shower it off after the game, walk it out outside. It’s in all laundry now. It makes me quite uncomfortable, but other than not playing padel, I don’t see any options. It’s probably really bad for the environment. + many for anyone who can up with a sustainable solution

Yeah this is nothing, somehow my partner’s shoes were 60% blue. Idc that it looks dirty, I’m just concerned that these fibers could go airborne and really get in our lungs

I think it depends if you have a fishbone sole that „takes“ a bit more off the court then a padel sole that is a bit more soft to the court. I guess that this is really not healthy for our lungs but stopping playing Padel is also not an option or!? 😅 Maybe it would be better to play more outdoor but in the wintertime in germany it is not possible to play outdoor for us 🫣

I usually find it's bad on the courts after they have been freshly mowed, but the alternative is worse, have you tried playing on courts where they just let it grow and get too long? Ruins the game.

From my experience it comes a lot when the court surface has been renewed and gets less after some months. But not renewing the ground of courts isn't an option either.

Yes exactly, new flooring looses much blue material at first. I don't know if it depends on the flooring quality though

Outdoor in the sun by any chance? My understanding is that when courts shed their fibres it’s due to high UV exposure.

It is plastict fibers got shreded just becuase carpet is poor quallity and cannot withstand mechanical abrasion. Dont eat it, dont snort through nose and you will be allright.
