I need fun ideas to annoy a friend who freezes me in casual matches

I’m looking for some fun ways to annoy a friend who keeps freezing me in very casual matches nothing toxic, just messing around between friends ( besides freezing him back). Long story short, we play matches every Monday old time friends just for fun (very mixed skill levels). This particular friend its really bad he enjoys playing but never really tries to improve or learn proper techniques. Recently, he figured out that if he freezes me, he doesn’t get punished for playing badly. It’s gotten to the point where it’s ridiculous I’m basically walking backward from the net because I’m not getting the ball anytime soon and he still doesnt play to me even when facing backward. The rest of my friends aren’t that strong either, so it’s hard for them to punish his bad returns or put preassure to the point he cant control his shots. Also, rallies are usually short because of lots of errors, so it often ends with him making a mistake or my friends. So I’m trying to come up with fun ways to annoy him (besides freezing him back). At the end of the day he’s still a friend, so I’m not looking to ruin the game for everyone just annoy him back for being an a\*\*\*ole. Also we switch partners every set and when he plays with me since im the strongest player he starts playing awfull because he is trying stuff and rallys very short and dont get to play much there either.

Keep passing him a third ball when he’s serving. Even when he hits back, just keep giving it back to him If he’s about to get a good smash drop a ball from your pocket, call for a replay Play his least favorite music on aux while playing Slightly mispronounce his name

Next time you play against him, make an agreement with your partner friend to switch sides quickly whenever he hits the ball, by shouting "switch!". He will think he is hitting at your partner but you take over and hit it back at him, making life difficult for him. Do this to the point that he gets annoyed, and does not know where to send the ball. If he solves your tactic and starts hitting the ball to your side (so that you can't take it if you switch), you start staying on your side and confusing him again. This is assuming that he is as bad as you say he is, so switching sides will not cost you many points when he has the ball.

Maybe declare that you’ll play with your non dominate hand and do that in warm up too. Might get a fun laughable game out of it

Tried that but they'll only think you're a dick.

When I play with much lower level players I just play at 20% or 50%, I try to coach them, I usually play a game with myself to try to place the ball exactly where they are so it’s the easiest ball for them. That’s actually more difficult than it sounds. I usually serve super easy on them and try things I would not normally try, to make more forced errors. That will make them play the ball with you. There’s no other solution other than playing with higher level players.

Oh thats what i was actually doing before this, i have to admmit that i was putting effort at somee points so that we always stayed even. Lets say that we were losing 4-1 i would put effort and bring it back tto 4-4

Just have a conversation with him. Tell him if it continues you won’t want to play with him.

My brother-in-law does this and I recently said (mostly seriously) "No wonder you never get any better. You can just avoid me the whole time cause you want to win the match so badly." Pretty awkward but it did help haha

freezing back is easy but boring 😅 couple better moves: stand near the middle when he serves, forces him to thread tighter → more errors when he hits to your partner instead of you, shout "good ball!" to your partner 😂 message lands without drama when you're his partner, park at the net and don't move. let him cover all the back 🧊 easiest fix: play him as opponent more. if his team loses 6-0 a few times he'll figure it out 🤷

May be tell him he is an a** on the court by making you not enjoy the game? He either stops freezing you out or you go find other players . Since he is a friend you probably also do other friend stuff which you can keep doing. Just not padel, since he is clearly not your friend on the court.

Naaaa like i said dont want to be toxic, just looking for fun ways to annoy him in a way that i dont ruin the match for everyone. He is like reeeeealy low level to the point that he is crouching and rolling backwards when a returning a lob that past him we called it the cochroach lob. I still have a good time i dont go there for good matches i have other people to play i just want to annoy him back

If he’s that bad surely you can just intercept and poach a lot. If he never hits it to you you can just move across very often.

Ask your partner to stay at a corner at the net and you cover the entire court and hit all kinds of nasty balls back

I’m very novice. Have played less than 10 Times. Most of the people I play with are same, Or under 2 years. I always want to hit to the dominant player so I can get better.

In my experience people like him are super annoyed with drop shots, poach a ball every now and then with a drop shot that he struggles to get to ;)
