I need to confess something: all my successful drop shots are by accident. All.

If I try to hit a drop shot, it’s an easy put away for my opponent.

Hahaha I feel that. The “nice touch” after I hit a framed drop shot winner feels dirty

Plot twist. We all know. Everyone knows.

Don't feel bad, most of my "dropshots" land somewhere near the baseline...

Hitting a ball with your frame resulting in the best drop shot ever is awesome. Don’t feel ashamed

I always feel embarrassed when everyone on the court congratulates me on my excellent shot and it was a total accident.

Happens even to pros. You hold up your hand a move on 😉

Think about catching an egg, you shouldn't meet it with a rigid "clap." Instead, you must move your hands in the same direction as the falling egg, gradually slowing it down. Now apply this to Padel The Soft Grip: You must hold the handle with minimal tension and a relaxed wrist. The "Give": As the ball meets the pade, you slightly retract your arm. This mimics the egg-catching motion, using your elbow and shoulder as shock absorbers to increase the duration of contact. By moving the racket face backward upon contact, you increase the contact time (\Delta t). This allows the Padel to absorb the ball's kinetic energy rather than reflecting it.

This makes a lot of sense. I will still only do it successfully by accident :)

I get it, I think good drop shots often come by accident at a real stretch, where the arm physically can’t generate any power and it’s *almost* killing the ball dead. Often that reach is also accompanied by opening the racket face, giving the ball a perfect backspin

I know the feeling 😄 I know I can do it from training, but I never go for it in an actual match.

Same with my bajadas. If it does anything other than go into the net or off the opponents back glass, it's luck.

I literally hit only one drop shot on purpose in my life

Same. The ones I actually try are telegraphed from three shots away. The ones that work are when I mishit a bandeja and somehow it dribbles into the corner and my opponent thinks I'm a genius.

I have the mist clumsiest hands of all time. The thing that worked for me was when the ball comes to your racket you sort of push your hips in the direction you want the balls to go. It creates that catching an egg feeling mentioned about because you cushion the ball automatically

Fake it till you make it. If it works by chance, celebrate it.

Me but winners instead of drop shots.

Sometimes what feels like a misshit is actually an unexpected rewards for decent technique. Because you are holding your racquet upright and hitting down on the ball, you are getting the necessary backspin when you block a hard bajada. If your racquet wasn't in the correct position, you might not make the shot......
