❔ Question ❔

Sanyo playing a Dropshot Racket in P2 brussels (no SET anymore?)

EDIT: Sorry, not dropshot - Starvie. I can't change the title so please imagine it would say "Stavie" in the title and move on please! As far as i knew, Sanyo was playing with a SET Racket (setsports.com) and they claim that on their website too. Now he is playing a Starvie. Anyone knows if they split or if he has no contract with them on premier padel matches? Or did he play the dropshot the whole time? I haven't watched a game of him recently, just curious.

That's a Starvie racket my friend, not Dropshot and he has been playing with it since the beginning of this season as far as I know. And yes he used to play with SET last year.

thanks, set still claims the partnership, even on google "setsports" it reads "Welcome to the SET & Sanyo : Padel magic meets innovation"

They are probably using his image still, maybe cause they can by contract or maybe because they are not a very big and serious brand.

It is not Dropshot it is StarVie. He switched brands not too long ago. That brand (StarVie) stopped sponsoring pro players a few years back but since this year they are back again sponsoring pros.

His contract with Set must have been only a year. Now he is playing with the Starvie Triton balance + I believe

Sanyo changes racket sponsors almost as much as he changes partners nowadays

well he was with SET the entirety of last year, and was with SIUX before them for about 2 years. Before Siux he was with HEAD for like... 8 years or so? That's the entirety of his racquet brand changes lol... he began this season with Starvie, probably didn't love Set given it's a small brand. His partners however, everyone below the top 16 are subject to constant changes because every time teams higher in the rankings part ways there's a ripple effect that trickles downwards. If his partner gets an offer from a higher ranked player, he can't help them leaving him.
