I think it depends on the game you are playing. If I am playing a friendly game, I don't want to win. I have 2 objectives:
1. I want to hit balls evenly to my opponents so they don't feel left out.
2. I want to practice the new things I learned.
There are many players who are just competitive and keep hitting the ball to the weaker player. In fact, one player at my club had a difficult time getting players to play with her (poor player). She was even crying that nobody wanted to play with her. So I told her I would. Of course, when I did, the first 2 games, she kept hitting the ball to my weaker partner. Later, I told her: you don't need to bring me here so you can hit 90% of the balls to my partner. You can do the same thing without my presence. Just play 2 against 1.
Now during a competitive match (tournament or league), everything is fair game. But let's be serious, most of us here aren't professional players. So my advice is have good sportsmanship and don't annoy people intentionally. If you know you're the superior player, what will you gain from beating up on a much weaker player. If you are playing against a much older person, there is no need to make every single winner a dropshot.
The point is to HAVE FUN. Right? If the players around you are always happy, you'll be happier. At least, that's how I feel.
