What is happening to Paquito?

I honestly think it's a mix of him getting older, thus naturally not keeping up like he used to, and failure to accept that. I can some what see this in myself too.. I still think I'm 25 when I do sports, but my body is constantly telling me i'm definitely not. It's a tough pill to swallow, especially for someone like Paquito who probably feel he never really fully unlocked his full potential during his career.

His frustrations are not new. People have talked about his behavior for the past two years. Especially when he played with Lebron. After he had an amazing 2023 season with Chingotto, he hasn't had such a good match again. Lebron, Cardona, Sanz, Bergamini, now Guerrero. I had high hopes for his partnership with Bergamini, as that's an amazing defensive player like Chingotto. Only other one like them would be Di Nenno, but he and Paquito split in 2021 I think. He isn't getting younger, so I hope he gets his mentality in check and gives those younger partners a good shot.

Aging…

Maybe there is more at stake for him now when he also has a child + he is getting older. Time spent traveling abroad alot instead of being with his family and then has to perform and still lose must be tough. I cannot imagine how it is to have that life style. Makes me wonder how Bella solved having a family during such a long reign as Nr 1. They travel and train so much and yet here I am feeling its difficult to manage family time just working a 9-5 job with 40 min commuting.

man, it could be life in general hitting him from different angles. you can be very good at the game and be successful, but still lean into certain patterns that push you into a bad headspace.

I think what people are saying are true but also that alot of the matches the opposition is putting him 'in the freezer' which must be terribly frustrating. I personally believe that paquito is the 3. Best left sided right hand player in the world, but i know alot will disagree with me on that.
