Yes a moment of confusion... is my racket still on the end of my arm? Yes. Now how did I hit that shot so poorly?

Its the giant hole in the middle of mine that opens and closes at random points in the game that confuses me the most. I never see it open, but the ball defo gets through. Its not mentioned in any racket descriptions or reviews, which is strange.
