Yeah, I’m pretty sure Galan got Leo on his radar for a possible match up for the future, he even declared once that on its current plans there’s not viable substitute for Chingotto, that plans to substitute Chingotto go so far in the future that he would go and switch to drive for it, hinting that he would leave the left side to someone better than him
However, this is not Augsburger currently, as he said, the environment around Leo currently is toxic, he has a bunch of yes men around him telling him that he’s the best player as is (starting with his manager) and starts to believe it, declarations of him saying he’s the third best left side player show it pretty clearly, he’s missing putting the daily work to improve his weaknesses, defense for example, plenty of coaches have mention this on interviews and all the other players know that and exploit it, hence why his tendency is to surprise and win when he’s with a new partner but starts to lose momentum when that factor washes away
Lastly, I do think that Lebron jumped the gun on him way to early and that’s why they won’t work but also it’s LeBron almost last chance to be on the fight for the top 2 spot so he will endure with Leo’s ego and try to not make faces, throw tantrums, etc hoping that this will somehow stick and make sense, you can see it on the bench audios, weirdly he is the voice of reason now 😅 while Silingo is asking Leo to stick to the plan and Leo keeps ignoring both 😅
idk who Galan is referring to, but Canali is a great coach imo. I dont think the problem is coaching. Nox academy has also been very successful. I might be wrong though.
Galan is referring to Lisandro Borges, Leos Manager, a guy that's always been problematic and been fighting with the Tour and Bela lol
Plus, he might have a great coach but the coach can’t do nothing if the player refuses to train or apply their recommendations, there was a clear example on the Riyadh tournament where Augsburger was playing on the first rounds against players that were obviously inferior, Augsburger decided to start trying a new strategy and they started losing the grip of the game, Silingo asked him directly why did he decided to skip the plan they had, his answer was: because I wanted it too 🤦♂️
I think he mostly talks about Augsburger’s manager and entourage, his manager even attempted to fight Lebron last year
