Something I have noticed a lot in my own training and evolution, is how clear it becomes after some time that you need to learn how to properly rotate and use your body in most shots. One of the main giveaways is what players do when they are lobbed. Most amateurs will walk back with the chest facing the net. Most advanced players will immediately turn their bodies to the side. Turning the body to the side allows you to rotate before the impact and use that rotational force to print more energy, spin, and accuracy to the ball. If you don't use your body, you are relying only on your arm for power and accuracy. You'll have less power and less accuracy. If you use the rotation of your whole body, the arm doesn't have all the responsibility, and you can generate more power and accuracy. It's not easy to master. It requires timing. There are some extra steps. But practice it. Don't just go back facing the net when lobbed and preparing a bandeja/vibora. Rotate your body. Use a proper grip. Continental and its variations. This is amateurish: https://preview.redd.it/a0z8lqf13omg1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=19f3a8322d14171aaf3a0fa73249bf5ff8d58ed9 This is how advanced players rotate: https://preview.redd.it/y673kdd43omg1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b921af5ce168a34aeeffb620a55abe708dc3780 https://preview.redd.it/thqheoo63omg1.png?width=1351&format=png&auto=webp&s=c710728c37065847bb41178aa732ef9b23a1c06b https://preview.redd.it/rp0282393omg1.png?width=585&format=png&auto=webp&s=a66c9a557834a6d990aed93deb7c634d02538fd5 https://preview.redd.it/qxnu3uca3omg1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=dad23b2cc815ad2837802ba2fca2618ad68ee3cd Let me know if this helped you. Thanks!

Jokes on you, I rotate back and walk like crab, so I look like a pro, but then I hit the ball 100% just with the strength of my arm, putting no hip rotation in it.

I think as well "The Prep" is a critical of advancing in improving your game. See so many never have there rackets up and ready.

Totally agree! Something that it helped me was to include similar movements in my gym workouts, for example wood chops or even some type of landmine/bar cleans or push in order to originate power from the legs up to the upper body. I believe both rotation work and create the power with your legs and transfer it to the smash for example, feels unnatural to me and this type of exercises helped me.

It's ok, I just realize way too late it's a lob, turn 180 degrees to sprint at the ball and then execute one of several desperate-times-maneuvers. You can guess how well that goes. I look real idiotic doing it too! It's great! I love this game.
