How do you guys organize weekly sessions with your group?

Our group has around 16 people and we play pretty regularly — mostly weekends. For a long time it was a nightmare getting people to commit through our messenger group. You'd send a message Monday asking who's in for Saturday, half the people reply Thursday evening, two drop out Friday night, and you're scrambling to fill spots. We've gotten way better at it over the past 6 months and play way more consistently now but I'm curious how other groups handle it. Especially bigger groups where you need to figure out who's playing, rotate people across courts, handle the inevitable last-minute cancellations etc. Do you just use group chats and deal with it? Doodle polls? Spreadsheets? Has anyone found something that actually works well?

There are 5 of us in a group and we play every Tuesday morning, it’s a first come first serve basis but usually we’re quite lucky and the person who doesn’t come actually just has other plans already. We also do the same for most Thursdays too

This is why I play almost all my games on Playtomic. I can’t stand anyone who cancels on short notice without a dead relative.

4 of us made commitment and bought times every week same time for whole year. The one who cant make it: has to find replacement for the group. Easy.

haha there is nothing other than paying in advance taht would make people commit to something and still someone will drop off last minute. You either are the one chasing people to remember/commit or are the one being chased after...

Use the official apps, it forces people to pay and therefore show up. I would probably not organize any games if that wasn't case, I'd look to just join instead.

Group chat on Whatsapp. Someone posts a date and time. The first 4 people to react with a thumbs up get thee booking. Our courts use Padelmates so we add the 4 players to the booking and they pay and we play
