❔ Question ❔

Do you use supplements before or during padel?

Do you take any supplements pre- or intra-padel? For me: • I'll have a banana and If I’m feeling very tired, I’ll take a dextrose tablet or just before the match starts • I usually take dextrose tablet near the end of the 1st set, so it kicks in before the 2nd set • Main drink is water with creatine • Occasionally I’ll use a Lucozade Energy instead Curious what everyone else does: carbs, electrolytes, caffeine, or just water?

Trenobolone mainly. My viboras improved by 600% in a month. /s A part from jokes, I can tell what doesn’t work and even makes me worse. I tried taking redbull or caffeine based pre workouts before padel games to improve my reaction time, but it actually made me more nervous and increased the amount of mistakes I did.

Magnesium pills at night to help with cramps.

Pre game banana. Make sure I’m hydrated already before the game. And sip on water and electrolytes during the breaks between sets.

Just water is fine for 1,5hr. More I use an isotone beverage and some food.

Creatine before any workout has been effective for me personally.

Just a dose before workout, or ramping up for some time?

Timing of creatine intake seems to matter much less than consistency over a long period. With daily use, muscle creatine reaches steady-state levels after roughly 3–4 weeks.

I use hydration/electrolyte drink through out a game. Maybe pair it with plain water if I need more liquid. Then I usually have an energygel, that I take through out the game on breaks. Key is to use electrolytes and energy consistantly thru the game to keep energies from dropping. Now - is this strictly necessery, probably not. Especially during friendly games but I like it and feels good. So why not. Having a banana instead of an energy gel probably gives more or less the same effect.

Amino acids, sugar and salt. Sip before and throughout. 2-3 hour sesh. It’s mostly the salt and sugar at that point. Protein shake after if my meal isn’t already meat heavy.

Dexedrine and Zyns, emergen-c, maybe a beer or two. Ibuprofen because I keep forgetting to stretch.

I just keep thinking about all those studies that are showing supplements don’t contain what the label indicates. One found around 40 percent did not contain a detectable amount of the ingredient listed. Half displayed the wrong amount, and 12 percent were found to contain illegal additives. Now I’m wondering how to find reputable supplements

This will not be a problem with electrolyte, creatin monohydrate in protein powder. Wont use funky preworkout drinks.

Multi-grain toast with peanut butter and sliced banana, or fig/strawbery jam does the trick for me. I sweat a ton, so I either make or buy a drink with electrolytes to drink during/after the game.

Banana and energy bar during with water. Whey protein after within 30 minutes. Magnesium before bed.

I drink electrolytes during the game, I have Dextro tablets for some sugar and I usually bring a müesli bar for tournaments. I have a really hard time eating anything when I play, though

Isotone

Only in summer. When the real sweaty season starts salt and sugar in huge amounts do wonders for my performance.

Electrolytes and creatine. Just purchased some Nomio drinks, but haven’t tried one yet (just arrived today). They are insanely expensive.

I take a 60 mins nap before matches, best to play rested and 15 min activation exercises.
