❔ Question ❔

Padel score

Hi lads, We are currently struggling with scoring points as the game is getting more serious match after match. We are looking for a padel or tennis score app that lets you display the score on your phone and use your Apple or Samsung watch to change the points. Does anyone know of an app that performs in this way? If not, I will probably sit for a few months and build it myself 😅 P.S. We are currently using Padel'em, the app itself is great. The only thing is that Padel'em doesn't mirror the scoreboard to the phone (at least I couldn't find this option, not even with premium), and this is what we are looking for so everyone can keep watching the score. There is an option online for a touchscreen digital scoreboard, but it's too expensive (around €300). Thanks a lot!

Just call the score out loud after every point. People can still argue with a score on the app.

yeah weird how often it comes up here, i've not had an issue in years of playing. every point is called before a serve, the side you're serving to tells you which of the 2 possible ones it is, and if there really is a dispute both sides can just recount the points they scored. if you can remember to add each point into an app, you can remember to just say it out loud instead.

I use this one, and full disclosure, I made it 😎 https://preview.redd.it/zlkhnfa2r3ig1.png?width=1740&format=png&auto=webp&s=915dc13395765f0349d7fcbfc4e46eb490690c26 [https://apps.apple.com/us/app/padel-scoreboard-scorebot/id6754282617](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/padel-scoreboard-scorebot/id6754282617) However, you use a Bluetooth remote to update this score, there's no watch app. Honestly, I've tried the watch apps and they're just too much of a pain to fiddle with all the time. The remote is dead simple: 1 press = your point 2 presses = other team's point hold = undo If you connect a Bluetooth speaker, then it announces the score after every point. Great stuff bud. Thanks a lot

I've had a lot of people ask for Apple Watch support, so I've decided to add it. It will probably be released in the next week or so.

If the opponents are not able to track scores they're not serious...
4
Come on, it's really not hard to call the score after every point!
3
I would take the opportunity to train the memory. If you call the score outloud before/after each point, it helps.  Also the position of the serve limits the possibilities
3
It's not about me, my bud. It's about when you're playing against others and they keep confusing the score.

Blows my mind that people seriously need an app for this! Just call the score out after each point. There are 4 of you, surely you can remember between you...

I know one for garmin, works great: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/697552d2-271d-40cc-a059-08a936f63993

Played a million tennis matches in my life - can’t remember one time the score of the game was an issue. Same thing in padel matches I’ve played. Seriously, how is this issue for normal adults? Do we need an app for everything?
3
I mean, once in 30 matches or so there's a real moment of confusion where nobody is 100% sure if the score is 40-15 or 30-30 (or something like that). Then you resolve it usually by choosing the more even score (at least in my experience). But yeah, seems extremely odd to me that so many people seem to want to have an app for this too. What's happening to humans?

I would recommend PADEL'EM, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.padelem.padelem https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6742227238 but you can just search "padel tracker" on your app store and pick the one you like most
2
Serious question, do you go to your phone after every point?
4
PADEL'EM works with the smartwatch
3
It's such a distraction.
2
Serious answer, did you read the whole question? To use the watch to change the score and attach the phone to the outside glass.

Yes, we are currently using Padel'em. The only thing is that Padel'em doesn't mirror the scoreboard to the phone (at least I couldn't find this option, not even with premium), and this is what we are looking for so everyone can keep watching the score. IIRC, 'Score Pro' has this functionality. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sportech.scorepro

I played a couple times with a guy who logged every point on his watch. A few times he miss-clicked any everyone else agreed he was wrong. It would also cause a couple second delay every time he served to log the point, that became really annoying after a while.

This ist the app you are looking for: https://padelcounter.com Runs on Apple Watch and connects to your iPhone or iPad or any Webbrowser. Put you tablet on the side of the court with some mount an you will have a great time.  Best padel app available at the moment.
2
Have you tried **PadelCounter**? It does exactly what you're describing , you control the score from your Apple Watch and it streams the live scoreboard to any web browser. So you can prop up a phone or tablet courtside and everyone sees the score in real time. One user mentioned they hang an iPad on the court wall with the live score displayed. Should work the same with a phone browser. [padelcounter.com](https://www.padelcounter.com/) if you want to check it out.

Our padel group had exact same problem, it was frustrating that we constantly had to try and remember what's the score. I didn't like the look of any of the currently available apps so i made one my self. The idea was that all the essentials would be on the watch but still keeping it clean and responsive. While some more detailed settings tweaks, match history and statistics would be on the companion app running on the phone. The phone is not required to keep score but would extend the app with more extensive features. At first it was almost the same if you don't mark the score on the watch it wont do much. But after few games it's now a habit and there is no more guessing what's the score. The app is currently a one-time purchase of about $2 (no ads, no subscriptions), but **I’m looking for 40 testers** to give me some honest feedback and help with visibility on the Play Store. If you are interested send me private message and I'll send you a promo code so you can download it for free. This is the app: [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dark.orchard.software.tennisscorekeeper](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dark.orchard.software.tennisscorekeeper)

It looks great, I would definitely be interested! I will check as soon as I get home

Thanks, if there is something missing you would like to have or something is not working like it should please let me know I'm happy to develop the app further. Ps. sent you the code by dm.

Currently working on a WearOS and Android companion app. It does exactly what you asked. Have been test driving it now for a couple of weeks on different clubs and the feedback has been great! I will publish it soon in the Play store. If you would like to have an early beta access, DM me and I'll provide instructions. In addition to score keeping and mirroring, the app will (as an option) keep track of unforced errors. It will also save the game history with said statistics. Regarding other people's critique about the need for the app. The problem of forgetting the score after a long rally is real for some folks. Even if the score was called aloud before the point. I built this to solve a problem I have. I might be in a minority. But I'm happy if there are others that find the app useful.

As other have said, you might think you need a tool but in reality you only need to call the score before every serving and be aware of the logic of the scoring system such as “even” points always go to the right side (0-15, 30-15, 40-0), “paired” points always go to the left (0-0, 15-15, 30-0, 40-15) do it enough times and it becomes automatic However if you really need a tool, someone else posted an app that he/she developed https://apps.apple.com/mx/app/padel-scoreboard-scorebot/id6754282617?l=en-GB Apart from the Apple Watch requisite (this one uses a Bluetooth remote) seems like it does what you were asking for, be careful though, if you don’t know the scoring rules it could also give you a false sense of assurance on a bad score

I use Padel.io on Apple Watch, works quite well
1
You can always trace back the score somewhat by tracking where the serve is being played.
1
People always looking for apps etc, just buy a physical flip book scoreboard that sits on the net lol
