That's a great and very fair question! Playtomic is definitely the giant in the industry, but Padel Tracker comes from a different angle:
1. **Platform Independence:** Playtomic is great if the clubs you play at use their system. Here in Argentina (and many other places), Playtomic isn't widely used. My app allows you to log matches from **any** club, private court, or tournament, regardless of what software they use.
2. **Granular Stats & Filters (for free):** Playtomic often locks advanced statistics and insights behind their "Plus" subscription. I wanted to build something where you can deep-dive into your performance, filter by partner, opponent, or location, and see your head-to-head records without any paywalls or ads.
3. **Privacy & Focus:** Some players find Playtomic a bit "noisy" with the social feed and ranking points. This app is a pure, private tool for you. It’s just your data, your notes, and your progress. No social pressure, just tracking.
4. **Born from Necessity:** As I mentioned, where I live, we didn't have a reliable way to keep a history of our games. I built this to fill that gap for myself and other players in similar situations.
It's not meant to compete with a booking giant, but to be a dedicated "digital notebook" for the curious player!
Thank you for the detailed explanation, I really appreciate it!
Do you know if Playtomic has an API you could use? I mean, personally I am not too much interested in such kind of data (yet). But if I were, I think if would find it much more convenient if I don't have to insert all this information like date and time of match, opponents, results etc manually.
This is maybe out of scope for your project, but I can imagine that inserting information manually might be a deal breaker for others. :)
